About Us

The aim at First Steps First Preschool Group is to provide a safe, caring, stimulating, educational environment through which children can extend and also develop their skills and abilities under the guidance of qualified and experienced adults, helping her/him towards being a happy, independent, self-confident individual.

The emphasis is on learning, through play, with small group tutoring, in pre-reading, writing and number skills where this fits the needs of the children.

We welcome children aged between 18 months and 5 years. Our adult/child ratio for children aged between 3 and 5 is 8 to one, and 18month  to 3 is four to one.

The daily routine is at times structured in a fun way and always child centered allowing  plenty of time for free play! Activities include art and crafts, general knowledge based on a Half Term Theme, musical movement, sand and water play, construction toys, stories, songs, imaginative play, puzzles, games and social skills.

Great emphasis is placed upon the development of a creative imagination.
